Welcome to the Bank of Japan Archives

The Archives opened in 2002 as a section within the Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies, Bank of Japan. The Archives serves as the official repository for the Bank's historical records. The Archives preserves the corporate memory of the Bank of Japan by acquiring, preserving, and making accessible records of continuing value that describe the Bank's origins, policies, interests, evolution, functions, and activities.
